Dr. John Lourié, M.D.

Founder & Medical Director

Dr. John Lourié is the founder and medical director of the Heart Attack Prevention Center in Bradenton, Florida. A board-certified internist, Dr. Lourié has dedicated his career to the prevention of cardiovascular disease through advanced diagnostics and personalized medicine.

Education & Training

Dr. Lourié earned his medical degree and completed his residency in internal medicine, where he developed a deep interest in preventive cardiology. His training emphasized the critical importance of early detection and intervention in cardiovascular disease.

Philosophy

Dr. Lourié believes that the current healthcare system fundamentally fails patients when it comes to prevention. The standard annual physical with a basic cholesterol panel is woefully inadequate for detecting cardiovascular disease in its early stages. Through advanced imaging, comprehensive biomarker testing, and the time afforded by a concierge practice, he provides a level of preventive care that can genuinely save lives.

The HAPC Approach

Dr. Lourié founded HAPC because he saw too many patients who suffered preventable heart attacks — patients who had been told by their doctors that they were “fine” based on standard testing. By combining advanced cardiovascular imaging with the time and attention of a concierge practice, he created a model of care that detects disease years before symptoms appear, giving patients the opportunity to take meaningful preventive action.

Personal Commitment

Dr. Lourié limits his patient panel to ensure that every patient receives the attention they deserve. He is personally accessible to his patients by phone and email, and he takes the time to thoroughly explain test results, answer questions, and collaborate on prevention strategies. For Dr. Lourié, medicine is not a volume business — it's a calling.
