Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our practice, membership, and approach to prevention.

Concierge medicine is a membership-based healthcare model where patients pay an annual fee for enhanced access and personalized care. By limiting the number of patients in the practice, your doctor can spend significantly more time with you and focus on prevention rather than just treating illness.
Unlike a traditional practice where doctors see 25–30 patients per day in 7-minute appointments, we limit our patient panel to ensure 45–60 minute appointments, same-day availability, and direct doctor access. Our focus is on preventing heart attacks and strokes through advanced imaging and comprehensive testing — not just reacting to symptoms.
Dr. Lourié can serve as your primary care physician, or you can maintain your existing PCP and use HAPC specifically for cardiovascular prevention. Many patients choose to make Dr. Lourié their primary doctor because of the enhanced access and care level.
The annual membership fee is not covered by insurance. However, most medical services we provide — lab work, imaging, diagnostic tests — are covered by your insurance plan. We submit claims on your behalf. The membership fee may be HSA/FSA eligible.
We go far beyond a standard cholesterol panel. Our testing includes coronary artery calcium scoring, carotid intima-media thickness testing, advanced lipid particle analysis, inflammatory markers (hs-CRP, Lp-PLA2), metabolic markers, and genetic risk factors. These tests give us a comprehensive picture of your cardiovascular health.
You can schedule a visit online or call our office at (941) 746-5200. We recommend scheduling a practice tour first so you can meet Dr. Lourié and learn more about our approach before committing to membership.
